Stop and smell the play dough
Have you heard of aromatherapy play dough? Ever thought of infusing your homemade play dough with essential oils for added fun, pleasure and therapeutic benefit?
My boy is play dough mad at the moment. We have this thing where every Monday morning we try and guess the colour the play dough will be at his kindergarten for the week before we arrive. But now I’m trumping that, and you can too, by infusing aromatherapy into play dough you make at home. Not only does it smell fantastic, but you can pick a mood or wellness benefit you want to create for your child’s play time.
Here’s just some ideas:
- Wild Orange – to uplift and encourage creativity
- Peppermint – to awaken and assist with clearing airways and supporting digestion
- Lemon – to uplift, disinfect and purify
- Lavender – to calm and soothe.
Today I used doTERRA’s Grounding essential oil blend, aptly named Balance, incorporated into this super simple play dough recipe – but you can use any recipe of your choice. I personally only use essential oils that are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade, because I can be sure they’re completely safe to use around my home.
Please message me if you want to know more about the highest quality therapeutic grade essential oils that we ourselves use and highly recommend, or to ask any other questions. We’re always happy to help.
